FUTURxFEST is a Culturally Caring Wellness Conference bringing together artists x techies x activists to co-design the future of social equity.
We believe that in order to advance our society, empathy–the first component of Human-Centered Design–is an imperative. By creating brands that center empathy as its North Star, ZiM investigates and designs for gaps in the market where the needs of the new majority have been historically overlooked within the beauty, arts, business and technology industries. We do not design for charity cases. We design for intersectional, interdisciplinary, intercultural, and underestimated talent, products, and services.

Because this is a start-up, you must be flexible and able to wear multiple hats in a small team setting while practicing accountability, responsibility, and humility.
ZiM is looking for a team-oriented player who embodies our company’s healthy, happy, and healed mentality. You will contribute to our family-like atmosphere and the “bring your whole self to work” environment. We embrace your tattoos, piercings, hairstyles, weird laughs, and obsessions with cosplay or #BlackTwitter memes, if you have the talent with healthy communication skills, that’s all we care about. We are looking for an innovator familiar with Design Thinking and Agile Processes who is unafraid to take risks and engage in the dissent from mainstream ideals. Our ideal team member has a strong affinity for hip-hop culture, and holds inclusive cultural celebration as core to their personal mission statement.

Fellowship Duration: October – December 2019, 3 Months
In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our values, daily routines, and procedures. You will focus on learning every aspect of a startup while contributing to building the core of its foundation. You will work remotely the majority of the time with commitments to in-office collaboration 2-4x per month. Upon completion of the 3-month commitment, fellows become eligible for part-time and full-time employment roles with salary & equity.
You will play a lead role in our brand legacy as the right-hand to the CEO and oversee that operations are met efficiently across each department including sales, production, tech, events, and marketing. You pride yourself on exceptional verbal and written communication skills and your gift to motivate and inspire others to be great. You will apply your expertise in project management, strategic planning, data tracking and analysis, team building, and leadership coaching to ensure staff is efficiently trained, milestones are met, and support is provided to the team at all levels. You enjoy periodic customer-facing duties as an opportunity to learn and ensure ZiM is providing exceptional service. You shine in managing people and deliverables with care, pay extreme attention to detail, and stay studied up on market trends to ensure ZiM’s longevity and position as a trend setter. You eat risks for breakfast and are unafraid to make bold moves to differentiate the ZiM brand in the market while also balancing logical foresight in constructive decision making to ensure our viability.

What You Need
Ability to work remotely and hold yourself accountable
Hold health, happiness, and healing as core to your personal values with interests that span internal wellness, external wellness, clean beauty, personal care, & cultures of care
Personable personality with an affinity for helping others with a smile and innate nature to go above and beyond to support
B.A. or graduate degree in Business, Economics, or Organizational Leadership preferred
2+ years in managing people, budgets, data, internal and external stakeholder relationships
Demonstrated ability to scale startups preferred
Cross-disciplinary experience in education, technology, business, beauty and/or personal care industries preferred
